What Clients Get From Us
We treat clients the way a good neighbor would: honest answers, no hurry, and help that continues after you sign.
More than one carrier on the table
We don't work for one company. You see several plans together, each with the premium, deductible and out-of-pocket max shown the same way, so the differences stand out.
Your doctors and drugs checked up front
A low price means little if your doctor isn't in network. Before we recommend a plan, we look up your doctors and medications in its network and drug list.
No cost for our help
We're paid by the carrier you choose, so reviewing your options never brings a bill from us. You pay the same premium through us as you would on your own.
Honest when a plan is more than you need
When a smaller plan covers you, we tell you. We'd rather you save the money than pay for coverage you won't use.
Still here after enrollment
Questions don't stop once you sign up. A bill seems off, a card doesn't show up, or your life changes mid-year. Call us and we'll work through it with you.
Coverage We Help You Choose
Most people come to us for one of three things: individual health insurance, family health insurance or an ACA Marketplace plan with a tax credit. Many also add dental insurance or vision insurance, since most adult health plans leave those out. Accident insurance is a smaller policy that pays cash after a covered injury, and it can help if you carry a high deductible. Pick the one that fits and we will start there.

Individual Health Insurance
Coverage for one person, shopped across many carriers, with each plan's premium, deductible and doctor network laid out so you can compare them.

Family Health Insurance
One plan or a few, we lay out family coverage options side by side so you can see what each person gets and what the year could cost.
ACA Marketplace Plans
We estimate your tax credit, check your doctors and lay out marketplace plans side by side, then help you enroll at no cost to you.
Dental Insurance
Dental plans from many carriers laid out next to each other, with the waiting periods, yearly caps and network rules explained before you enroll.
Vision Insurance
Vision plans that cover yearly eye exams plus an allowance for glasses or contacts, compared side by side so you can see what each one pays.
Accident Insurance
Cash benefits after a covered injury to help with your deductible, copays and the bills that come after a fall, break or ER visit.

A Small Agency That Knows Its Neighbors
Private Health Insurance Palmetto helps people buy health coverage without feeling sold to. We meet clients at our office, or by phone and video if driving in does not work.
Our job is to make the options make sense. Insurance has its own language, and we translate it into plain words: what you pay each month, what you pay at the doctor, and what happens if something big comes up. Then you decide.

How Your Premium Is Set
Health insurance prices can seem random, but they follow a few rules. Some things set your monthly premium, and others decide what you pay when you use the plan. These are the ones we go over with you.
Once we know your age, county, income and who needs coverage, we pull actual numbers from the carriers. We give you the quote by phone, and the consultation is free.
- Your age and tobacco
- Premiums can go up as you age. Many plans also charge tobacco users more.
- Your county
- Carriers set prices and plan lists county by county. Someone in Manatee County sees different options than someone two counties away.
- Tax credits based on income
- For ACA Marketplace plans, your expected income for the year and how many people you're covering decide whether a tax credit lowers your premium. We help you estimate income with care so tax time holds no surprises.
- Metal level and deductible
- Lower premiums usually come with higher deductibles. Bronze, silver and gold plans divide costs in different ways, and the best fit depends on how often you see a doctor.
- HMO or PPO
- HMO plans usually cost less but keep you in a set network. PPO plans give you more room and tend to carry a higher premium.
- Who you're covering
- A spouse or children changes the price. Kids sometimes qualify for other coverage, and we'll tell you if they do.

Common Questions
- Do you charge for your help?
- No. The consultation is free. We're paid by the carrier you pick, and your premium matches what you'd pay enrolling yourself.
- Will my doctor be covered?
- Often, but it varies by plan. We look up your doctors in each carrier's network before showing you anything, and we tell you right away if one is missing.
- When is ACA enrollment open?
- Marketplace open enrollment generally starts in early November and ends in mid-January. After that, certain changes still let you sign up, like losing work coverage, getting married or having a baby. You usually have about 60 days after the change, so call us soon.
- Can I get a tax credit?
- It comes down to two things: your expected income this year and how many people you're covering. Many people who buy their own plan get some help. We work through the numbers with you and show each plan's price after the credit.
- Are dental and vision part of a health plan?
- Most adult health plans leave out routine dental and eye care. Separate dental insurance and vision insurance cover that, and we can quote them alongside your health plan.
- How is accident insurance different from health insurance?
- Accident insurance pays you a set amount of cash after a covered injury, to use as you need. It goes with a health plan rather than replacing it.
- Do I need to visit your office?
- No. You can come in, but many clients would rather talk by phone or video. You get the same side-by-side review either way.
How It Works
Most clients are done in one or two conversations. Here is what to expect.
- 1
Call us
Let us know who needs coverage and what you carry now. We book a time at our office, by phone or on video, whichever works for you.
- 2
We collect the details
We ask about your doctors, medications, budget and expected income. Having your medication list and doctor names ready speeds things up.
- 3
You compare plans together
We present two to four fitting plans from different carriers, with costs shown clearly. We explain what each covers and where it comes up short.
- 4
We take care of enrollment
When you choose, we go through the application with you on the call or at our office, one question at a time, and confirm your start date. We also tell you when the first premium is due so your coverage doesn't lapse.
- 5
We remain your contact
Call us with questions once you're enrolled. We can look over your plan again before the next open enrollment.
