Accident Insurance in Palmetto
A broken wrist or a trip to the ER can leave you paying your deductible before your health plan does much. Accident insurance pays you cash after a covered injury. We compare plans from many carriers and show you what each one pays, in plain words.
What accident insurance does for you
Accident insurance is a small, separate policy that sits next to your health plan. When you get hurt in a covered accident, it pays a set cash amount for things like an ER visit, an X-ray, a fracture or a hospital stay. The carrier pays that benefit straight to you, and you spend it on whatever the injury ends up costing you.
Most people use it to cover the deductible, copays, gas to follow-up visits, or the paycheck they lose while they heal. It does not replace health insurance. It fills the gap a high deductible leaves open.
Being an independent insurance agency means we can put more than one company's plan in front of you. We start with what you already carry, then give you a straight answer on whether an accident plan is worth it or whether your money does more good somewhere else.
How we help when you call
- Your current coverage first
- We begin with the health plan you have now. Its deductible and out-of-pocket max show how large a gap an accident plan would cover.
- Options from many carriers
- We shop 50+ insurance carriers. You see several accident plans together, with benefit amounts lined up for a fair comparison.
- Payout charts in plain words
- Every plan has a chart of what it pays by injury. We go through it with you line by line: what a fracture pays, what an ER visit pays, and what isn't covered.
- Off-the-job or 24-hour plans
- Some plans cover only injuries outside work, while others cover you on the job as well. We help you choose based on your work and whether workers' comp already protects you.
- Enrollment help
- After you choose, we complete the application together by phone, on video or in person at our office. The consultation and enrollment help are free to you, because the carrier you pick pays us.
When an accident plan is worth a look
Your deductible is high
If your health plan has a deductible in the thousands, one bad fall could cost you most of it. Cash from an accident plan can cover that first chunk.
You or your kids stay active
Youth sports, biking, boating on the Manatee River, ladders on weekends. Active people get hurt more, and the bills add up fast.
You work with your hands
Trades, landscaping and warehouse work carry more risk. If you are self-employed and have no workers' comp, a 24-hour plan is worth pricing.
You have no savings cushion
If a surprise bill would mean a credit card, a small monthly premium for cash benefits can be the steadier choice.
You lose pay when you miss work
Health insurance pays doctors, not you. Accident benefits land in your hands and can help keep the lights on while you heal.

We collect accident plans from several carriers and put them side by side, so each monthly premium sits next to what the plan pays for everyday injuries.
- 3
We go through them together
We talk by phone, on video or at our office. We point out waiting periods, exclusions and easy-to-miss details, and we say so when a plan is not right for you.
- 4
You choose and enroll
Once you decide, we stay on the phone and go through the application with you on that same call, answering questions along the way. After that, we stay your contact for anything about claims.

What sets the price of an accident plan
Accident coverage is usually one of the lower-priced policies you can buy, but premiums still vary. We show you how each choice changes the price so you only pay for benefits you'll actually use. Here is what matters most.
- Benefit level
- Plans come in levels. Moving up a level raises the payout for each injury and the monthly premium along with it.
- Who is covered
- Covering just yourself costs less than including a spouse or kids. Family coverage is often a single flat rate no matter how many children are on it.
- Off-the-job or 24-hour
- Plans that include injuries at work generally cost more than plans that only cover you off the job.
- Extra riders
- Some plans offer add-ons like hospital stay or follow-up visit benefits. Every add-on increases the premium, so we only recommend the ones that match your life.
Accident insurance questions we hear
Something not covered here? (941) 304-1818
Does accident insurance replace my health insurance?
No. It works alongside it. Your health plan still pays the doctor and hospital. The accident plan pays you a set cash amount on top of that, which you can use for your deductible or anything else.
Does it cover illness?
No. Accident plans only pay for injuries from a covered accident, like a fall, a car wreck or a sports injury. If you want to look at full medical coverage, our individual health insurance and ACA marketplace plans pages explain those options.
Can I buy it any time of year?
Most accident plans can be bought outside open enrollment. Your health plan may have enrollment windows, but an accident plan usually does not. We will tell you the start date for any plan you pick.
Do I need a medical exam?
Usually not. Most accident plans ask few or no health questions. We will tell you up front what each carrier asks before you apply.
How do I get paid after an injury?
You file a claim with the carrier, usually with records from the visit. Once it is approved, the money comes to you. Give us a ring if you get stuck and we will talk you through the claim steps.
What does it cost to work with you?
Nothing. The carrier you end up picking pays our commission, so having us look over your options costs you nothing out of pocket. There is no fee for the consultation either, even if you decide not to buy.
